Things to Do Near Our Beeville TX RV Park
Gulf beaches an hour one way, San Antonio two hours the other, and a town in between with a golf course, a distillery, a cinema, an art museum and a standing-mile race track. Here is what our guests actually do with their days off.
Staying a month or a season means you get to work through the whole list rather than picking one thing for a weekend.
Gulf beaches at Corpus Christi
Drop down US-181 and in a little over an hour you are standing in the surf. Mustang Island State Park gives you five miles of open Gulf beach, drive-on sand, and some of the best surf fishing on the coast — redfish, speckled trout, and whatever the tide brings in.
Keep going south and Padre Island National Seashore runs for sixty undeveloped miles: swimming, shelling, kayaking the Laguna Madre flats, and sea turtle hatchling releases in early summer. Guests on monthly sites often make a standing weekly trip of it — one of the quiet advantages of staying a season rather than a weekend.
On the way home the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington are an easy add-on, and the seawall along Ocean Drive is worth the detour at sunset.

Beeville’s municipal course sits inside Veterans Memorial Park, minutes from the park gate. It is a nine-hole, tree-lined layout with water in play on four holes, no bunkers, and some of the largest greens in the region — forgiving off the tee, less so once you are putting.
It is a municipal course, which is a large part of why so many of our long-term residents keep clubs in the truck. There is a driving range and practice green if you would rather work on your swing than play a round, and lessons can be arranged through the pro shop. Current green fees are posted by the city.
Winter Texans: January tee times here, in shirtsleeve weather, are one of the better bargains in South Texas.

Veterans Memorial & Flournoy Park
Beeville keeps its parks up, which matters when you live somewhere for months rather than nights. Veterans Memorial Park is the big one — walking trails, ball fields, exercise stations, picnic pavilions, the golf course and the disc golf course all on the same grounds.
Flournoy Park is the quieter option: a pond, a gazebo, shade, and somewhere to sit with a coffee that is not your own picnic table. Both have playgrounds, which our residents with visiting grandkids find out fast.
For an evening walk closer to home, the park’s own interior loops run about a mile end to end once the heat breaks.

There is an eighteen-hole disc golf course at Veterans Memorial Park, threading through mature trees and open grass — enough technical throw to stay interesting without punishing beginners.
It is one of the cheapest ways to spend a morning in Bee County: bring three discs and you are set. Several of our long-term residents play a standing round on their days off, and we are glad to point new arrivals at whoever is going.

Beeville Art Museum
The Beeville Art Museum occupies a restored historic house near downtown and punches well above the weight of a town this size. Exhibitions rotate through the year, leaning toward Texas artists, alongside a permanent collection and a steady program of workshops, lectures and openings.
The galleries are cool on a hot afternoon, and it is the kind of place where staff will actually talk to you about what is on the walls. Check the calendar before you go — opening receptions are a good way to meet people if you are new in town, and admission and hours are listed on their site.
It pairs naturally with an hour wandering the courthouse square and the Main Street storefronts.

A craft distillery is not what most people expect to find in Beeville, but Coastal Bend Distilling has built a real following for its small-batch spirits. Tours walk you through mash to barrel, and the tasting room is a pleasant way to spend an hour.
They run live music, seasonal releases and other events through the year, which makes it one of the few genuine nights out in town rather than a drive to Corpus. It is also the easiest place to take visiting friends and family when you want to show them Beeville is more than a highway junction.

Rio 6 Cinemas
Six screens, first-run releases, stadium seating, and no hour-long drive to see them. Rio 6 is the default rainy-afternoon and Friday-night answer in Beeville, and matinee pricing in a small market is what it used to be everywhere.
It matters more than it sounds. Long-term RV living in a rural county can get quiet, and having a cinema ten minutes from your site is part of what makes a six-month stay comfortable rather than merely cheap.

The Texas Mile is a standing-mile top-speed event held outside Beeville. Drivers get a straight mile to see how fast their car will go, and the field ranges from tuned street cars to purpose-built machines.
Event weekends bring competitors and spectators from across the country, and our sites fill up around them — we can take a rig and a race trailer on the same pad, which is why crews keep coming back to us rather than driving in from Corpus Christi each morning.

Coastal Bend College
Coastal Bend College’s main campus is in Beeville, offering two-year degrees, transfer credit and workforce programs, along with community classes and events open to the public.
It is a practical option if you are parked here for a while and want something to show for the time — long-term site rates and a campus ten minutes away make it a good deal easier than it would be almost anywhere else. Current programs and enrollment dates are on the college’s site.
The campus also hosts public lectures, performances and community events, and the grounds are pleasant to walk.

Beeville runs on Tex-Mex, barbecue and taquerias that open before dawn for the work crews. You will find family-run Mexican kitchens downtown, chicken-fried steak on the highway, brisket by the pound, and the usual chain options along US-181 for nights you would rather not decide.
For groceries and supplies, H-E-B and Walmart cover the weekly run, and there is hardware, auto parts, propane, farm supply and an RV service shop in town — genuinely useful when something on the rig needs attention.
The courthouse square hosts the county fair, Western Week, Diez y Seis celebrations and farmers markets through the year, and Friday night football fills the stands.
Wind farms, brush country & big water
Drive any direction out of Beeville and you are in South Texas brush country. Turbines from the Helena Energy Center and the wind projects across Bee and San Patricio counties stand over the farmland — an oddly good sunset drive, and the reason a lot of our neighbors are here for work.
This is serious hunting country: whitetail, dove and hog leases are everywhere in Bee and Live Oak counties. Lake Corpus Christi and Choke Canyon Reservoir are both inside an hour for bass, catfish and the occasional alligator sighting.
Bee County also sits on the Central Flyway, so spring and fall migration bring birders through; the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail runs down toward Rockport and Aransas. Farther out, Goliad’s Spanish mission and presidio are about forty minutes northeast and the King Ranch at Kingsville about ninety minutes south.
